Great Western Coaches
- Great Western Coaches
- 1890-1954
- Many people had as much affection for the Great Western's chocolate and cream coaches as for its green locomotives with their gleaming brass-work. Certainly the coaches were just as distinctive as the locomotives. They formed an integral part of the unique Great Western character, and their history is also that of travel to and from the holiday resorts, the ports and the country towns on the GWR system. The coaches probably figured in fiction more than those of any other railway.
