The Southern in Surrey & Berkshire
This book continues the series by Terry Gough in which he illustrates the former Southern Railway lines in the 1950s and 60s. All the photographs were taken by the author and feature steam locomotives at work on the various main lines, branch lines and cross country routes within each county.
It is the former LSWR lines serving Woking and surrounding areas that are the main subject of this book.

LNER Branch Lines 1945 - 1965
LNER Branch lines, seen here in pictures, were one of the last to convey passengers on some of Britain's lesser known railways.
Country branch lines threaded their way through the cornfields of Eastern England worked by 70 year old locomotives with creaking pre-grouping rolling stock passing through stations, still displaying many of the features of their pre 1923 former owners, and this album helps to portray the scene.

North Eastern Branch Lines Past and Present
Ken Hoole is an authority on the North Eastern Railway system and all its locomotives, rolling stock and associated buildings and miscellanea.
The NER, in 1905, operated 93 passenger branch lines and 91 goods only branch lines. Many of these have been covered in this fine nostalgic album which shows the fascinating workings carried out over these lines.
