- The Railways Around Grimsby Cleethorpes, Immingham & North East Lincolnshire
- Scenes From The Past: 5

- by P.K. King, D.R. Hewins
- On the 1st March 1848, one hundred and forty years ago, the first public railway service in the Grimsby area, that between Louth on the East Lincolnshire Railway, and New Holland on the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, began. The coming of the railway, which for the first few months had no physical connection with the rest of Britain's railway network, breathed new life into a sterile area of the country. Grimsby and the surrounding area was about to experience its own version of the industrial revolution.
